Welcome to Baby Collin's blog. This is a place where all of our beloved family and friends from around the world can check in on his progress, see new pictures and leave words of encouragement for his mom and dad and grandparents.
Baby Collin was born on Friday, March 9 at 10:46 a.m. We knew that he would be born with gastroschisis and were prepared for surgery to reinsert the intestines. Unfortunately, the small intestine (which absorbs all of the nutrients for the body) that was on the outside of his skin had twisted up and had died. Thankfully Collin had enough live small intestine for the pediatric surgeons to connect it to the large intestine (colon). Due to this, Collin has what is called "short gut syndrome".
Collin will have a long road ahead; but we believe strongly in the power of prayer and ask that you keep him in your thoughts and send positive intentions for him.

Sweet Baby Collin and Family,
If you only knew the amount of love that there is in the world from those who have never even met you, I believe that would give you all the strength you need. There are prayers and happy wishes coming to you from around the world. Your family is a strong and loving one and that is such a blessing. Looking forward to meeting you someday.

We just love seeing pictures of Collin. I wish I could be there to hold him. He is so adorable. Granny and Gramps (Great) Nastase think he might be cuter than their own 6 children and 13 grandchildren. Do I sound a little non-objective?
