Welcome to Baby Collin's blog. This is a place where all of our beloved family and friends from around the world can check in on his progress, see new pictures and leave words of encouragement for his mom and dad and grandparents.Baby Collin was born on Friday, March 9 at 10:46 a.m. We knew that he would be born with gastroschisis and were prepared for surgery to reinsert the intestines. Unfortunately, the small intestine (which absorbs all of the nutrients for the body) that was on the outside of his skin had twisted up and had died. Thankfully Collin had enough live small intestine for the pediatric surgeons to connect it to the large intestine (colon). Due to this, Collin has what is called "short gut syndrome".
Collin will have a long road ahead; but we believe strongly in the power of prayer and ask that you keep him in your thoughts and send positive intentions for him.
