Collin's first half of January 2009! :)

New Year's party at Auntie Shari's
Collin's cousin’s Megan and Rena watched him downstairs so that Mommy and Daddy could have fun upstairs. They did a great job! Although, there was a funny little incident…Matty and I took turns going downstairs to check on Collin. Matty went down and the girls were going on and on about how “easy” it was to take care of Collin. Matty looked over and Collin’s mouth was FULL of fake coins!!!hahaha Needless to say, Collin and the girls came back upstairs after that!!!!!

Uncle Tommy and Michelle

Uncle Dan and Auntie Theresa

Collin was happy to see uncle but did NOT want up!haha

Singing away!!

Sooo cute!!

Auntie Shari and Robin (cousin)

fun,fun

Yummy, beads are good!haha

We couldn't get him away from singing karaoke

I swear Collin gets a bath at least every other day!!!! He looks like a homeless child here!!hahahaha

His new fake smile
Collin was VERY proud of himself for building a tower on the window ledge

Some pictures from today...aren't very good but I loved his outfit!!!

That's another new look...I think that's the you're dumb look!haha

Collin's been doing awesome since we've stopped the tubefeeds at night and have been running fluids instead!!! He’s now off all antibiotics and is getting a cultural twice a day. Dr. Mercer’s hopes are that the extra good bacteria will keep the bacteria overgrowth under control. He is now saying new words almost on a daily basis; the old words are becoming clearer!!! Collin’s showing signs of being interested in potty training so we got him a potty chair. The other day he brought the potty out in front of the TV, sat down to watch Bob the Builder and went poo on it!hahaha It was sooo funny, he still had his pants and diaper on! Collin’s the most amazing little boy anyone could ever have and we are sooo luck that he’s ours!!! I’ll try to post more often!! Sorry it took so long to get this one up! Please keep praying, the past few weeks have been good but that doesn’t mean it can’t change tomorrow!

Love you all,
The Simmons’

I am holding myself to only looking at Collin's blog once a day. (It's hard! We miss him so much that I really like to gaze at his pictures several times a day.):)

I think those karoaoke pictures are hilarious; he really looks like he's reading the words on the screen! Wish we would have been there to hear what he was singing! Also, I wish there were pictures of you and Matty from New Year's Eve, too.

Hope all is going well...you three are in our constant prayers.

Love
Lora

It looks like we could have the next American Idol!!!
The pictures are just adorable, and he is growing up way to fast! I love looking back on his blog and seeing how much he has changed.
I am glad to hear that he is doing so much better! Good luck on the potty training...You will have to give me some pointers when Taylor starts that process.
I have been counting down the days to come visit, and it's not coming fast enough! Thanks for putting up new pics.

Erin, could you post some of Collin's words on the blog? I know we hear some of his words when we're on the phone with you, but I'd love to know all he's saying! (I know, I know, "nosy grandma"!)

Also, (as long as I'm making requests-haha) would you post a picture of Collin and his prayer bear? I was looking at Sophia's prayer angel (it's roughly the same size as Collin's bear) and I was thinking how small it must look next to him now that he's such a big boy!

XOXO

Construction! He is such a little man! He is growing and changing so fast that it's unbelievable!

In previous pictures he seemed to really love his construction toys and gear! I think construction would be really cute!

Good luck!!

My prayers are always with you.

I agree, a "construction-theme" would be really cute. I can already see Collin with his hard-hat & bib overalls on!! :) You might find some fun ideas at orientaltrading.com Good luck and let us know what you decide!!

Collin, I am sending you a hug and kisses tonight, as well as some special prayers. Missing you alot!!

Thanks! I'm getting Decorations from both oriental trading and birthday express! I’m sooo excited!!! There’s going to be 200 yellow and 200 black balloons all over the floor in the house and garage. Also, I’m getting a tanka truck (the biggest one) and going to make two chocolate cakes with choc frosting and am going to cut and place them in the tuck so that it looks like dirt!haha Lots of ideas, can’t wait to get decorating!!!!!

Awww, that will be amazing! You should stick some gummy worms into the dirt for added excitement! ha ha

Are you inviting family or his little friends? How many people are you expecting?

I'm really excited for you; this will be so much to fun to plan and execute.

Wow Collin looks so great. Its crazy it feels like just yesterday that all the cousins were Collin's age and Erin and I were the babysitters. Or more like Erin was the babysitters of all the younger cousins and I made it as hard on her as possible haha.
Another generation of kids have graduated into well lets just be honest, bigger kids with more problems and responsibilities. This is not a depressing post by any means but meant to remind us of the kids we once were. Take a breath and think about who you really are. That fun filled, endless spirit is still within us all.
We just have to find it again.

Love You Guy and Gals
Ryan

P.S. "Gals" is one of grandpa Nastase's coined words. And its once again cool and allowable to say in public without sounding like a grandpa haha.

Ryan, you crack me up!! It's true that we all have the fun-filled, energetic child still in us.

Collin, I just stopped by your blog to tell you that I love you very much! I was at the park with Auntie Sophia and her friend earlier and I couldn't help but think of how much fun you would have digging in the sand, climbing UP the slides and hanging off the monkey bars with them! I miss you very much and can't wait to see you.

Hugs and kisses,
Grandma

Good morning! We're so excited to kick of the
"March for Babies 2009" fundraiser for the March of Dimes! Our family team is "Team Collin", and we're walking in celebration of Collin's 2nd birthday. (The walk in Tucson will be held on April 25; it's on different dates all over the country.)

If anyone is interested in forming their own family teams (or even joining our team in Tucson), this is an amazing event & an amazing organization that works toward preventing birth defects & premature births, as well as infant mortality.

More information can be found at www.marchofdimes.org or you can email me at collinshope@mail.com

We're so grateful to the research that has been done; and the medical advances which have saved Collin's life and give him the opportunity to have a long & healthy life. Please help us give back to an organization which has helped in those endeavors!

Love,
Collin's Grandma Lora

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!

Collin, as the time draws closer to the date of your birth, I find myself walking down memory lane and recalling little things about the months, weeks and days leading to March 9, 2007.

In February that year, I was busy organizing a couples baby shower for your mom & dad, to welcome you! My sister Melinda handcrafted beautiful invitations and we invited so many family members and friends. Everyone was so excited to celebrate YOU!

Your aunties were excited about the event, as well. Auntie 'Lexa began putting together a "baby changing kit" for your daddy...including goggles, tongs and nose plugs! ha ha

Your mommy chose a beautiful black toile design for your nursery bedding and your room was decorated like a magazine spread. Your mommy and daddy even went to Build-A-Bear and made you a special little pup-pup bear & stuck in it a special little prayer for you!

You weren't expected to arrive until Mid-April, but boy, were we ready for you!!! Your mom had adorable outfits all washed and smelling sweet, hanging in perfect order in your closet & a basket of toys waiting for their boy.

Every day that I've been your grandma has been a blessing to me and I look forward to each of your birthdays with joy & pride & awe.

I love you very much and I'm really looking forward to enjoying your 2nd birthday through your mom's wonderful pictures!!

I love you!!

A million hugs and kisses...
Grandma

We're trying to decide from several pictures, if Collin will become a rock star, farmer or mountain climber. So sweet. Love, GG
