Go Big Red!
I want to start this update by first thanking EVERYONE for their prayers!!! THEY'VE WORKED!
Collin has made huge strides in the past ten days!!! Last Tuesday, at his clinic appt the doctor pulled his central line out! He weighed in at 18lbs, 6oz, and that same day he rolled over for the first time!! Now, he’s a rolling fool! The rest of the week went great as he learned to blow raspberries! haha The week ended with a great surprise from Grandma and Grandpa Nastase! Collin got a present in the mail, a new high chair!!! Yippie! This week has been going great as well! Tuesday, we went to clinic and Collin’s doctor said that it was time to start weaning Collin from his tube feeds!!! He has a two hour window where he isn’t attached to anything! I guess if you haven’t had a sick baby before it’s hard to understand how amazing it is to walk around your home holding your baby and not having to carry a pole with tube feeds or IV fluids!! :) Anyway, Collin has also taught himself something! He can now scream a bloodcurdling cry, then when I almost die running to him to make sure he’s okay he laughs! His arm strength is getting stronger everyday, can’t wait until he crawls! Please continue to pray! Love you all!!!!

This fantastic news brought tears of joy to my eyes! We have GOT to get together soon so I can make silly faces at that little guy again. Last time I was making faces at him he was still pretty drugged up. I want to be sure he knows this lady really IS crazy and it wasn't just the drugs! LOL! Need to give his mommy a big hug too! I'm SO proud of all your hard work and dedication to your son. You two are such great parents and Collin proves it everyday with his amazing strides forward.

Erin & Matt,

I’m so proud of you both. You have met and conquered so many challenges with Collin. He is lucky to have you. As for the blood curdling screams, good luck!!! Wait till they stop… then that will freak you out. Keep up the awesome job and enjoy the changes/phases as they come and go. Love you guys, Dad N.

Erin & Matt, I had so much fun working with the photos on this entry...if you let your mouse hover over each picture, I left you a surprise.

Also, the high-chair was Dad's and my pleasure. (Dad spent HOURS researching, online, all the chairs available, to find the BEST one for his grandbaby. Thank goodness we have had recent experience by which to compare!lol)

XOXOXOXO

Erin and Matt: What great news about Collin and the tubes being removed. Also his weight is catching up to his age. Loved the pics of Collin in his bath. What a cutie.

Collin - you need to grow some more so the high chair fits your teeny body better. It is a great chair and will last till mom and dad decide to have another little bro or sis. (just kidding)

You are doing a great job and we are all so proud of you and the responsibilities you have so quickly taken over and conquered.

Hugs,

Great Auntie Marsha

Hi Aunt Rose, I agree, Erin does such a good job describing what they are going through and explaining Collin's tube's and cares and such.

Your Matty has been such a wonderful addition to our family; he is such a great daddy and husband. We are so excited for all the Ohio relatives to see our little family and meet Collin in person, for the first time!

I have heard so much about you all from Erin that I feel like we've already met.

Much love,
Lora (Erin's s. mom)

LOL! Imagining the mariachi's now and not sure that a woman of my age can handle that much excitement and loud music! **Muah!** back at ya!

Well, our little family made it safely to Larimore, ND where Erin spent most of her teen years. Her mom, Nana V, is hosting an open house for the town today so that all of Erin's old friends can meet Collin and Matty. I am sure that everyone will be thrilled; they have all been so kind and supportive. (We love it when you post here, Larimore!) We wish we could be there, hopefully Nana V will take tons of photos which we can post here later.

We're so excited for them and hope they have a great time. Please pray for them to have a safe, leisurely drive back to Omaha on Saturday!
