Collin had his last cast taken off the other day and now is wearing a brace on his legs. Apparently he doesn't care for the brace very much (we've mentioned here how he likes to express himself with those little legs); we're hoping that he gets used to them quickly. He now weighs 12 lbs, 12 oz and is getting 29 mL an hour of the formula. Things keep getting better and we feel so blessed!
Nana V, Grandpa V, Collin's Uncle N and Nana V's parents had a nice time in Omaha last weekend. The entire family spent some time in the Old Market and they dined at some yummy restaurants. The time really flew so Spa Day and shopping spree will wait for another visit; I am sure there will be many since they live so close. Collin's mama says that Uncle N has a special gift for making Baby Collin giggle...we can't wait to see pictures!
The N family (in Tucson) is excitedly getting their bags packed and last minute errands done before they leave for Omaha...tomorrow! :) This will be the first time that the Aunties have seen Baby Collin out of the hospital and they are so excited. We'll be there to celebrate Uncle M's graduation and Gigi & Great Grandpa N's 45th Wedding Anniversary!! To say it will be a fun filled week is an understatement.

Things continue to look up for our little Omaha family! They were told today that Collin *may be* taken off the TPN TOTALLY in about 2 weeks! As it is, he is hooked up to the TPN for only 15 hours of each day. This news, as I am sure you can imagine, has made our collective day!
In other "big" news, Collin now weighs 12 lbs 5 oz! We understand that by the time we get there (8 more days!) he will no longer be wearing his cast but will have his leg braces on.
Collin's parents have been working very hard getting their new home put together...his super mom had all of the boxes unpacked yesterday!! Thank you all for your continued good wishes for our precious little family! God bless...

Things are going great for our little family! They moved into their new, very spacious apartment on Sunday and all of their furniture arrived yesterday. Baby Collin has enjoyed all of the activity and fights taking naps because he wants to see what is going on around him. Nana V and Grandpa V should arrive Thursday or Friday, which will be a great help for Collin's mommy. Collin's Daddy checked in to the base yesterday, and now has eight days off to allow him to help unpack and get their new home organized.
Grandpa and Grandma N are counting the days until they and the Aunties leave for Omaha. Great Grandma N (from here on out to be referred to as "Gigi" for "G.reat G.randma") and Great Grandpa N will be celebrating 45 years of marriage; Uncle M will be graduating from high school. Lots of celebrating and baby kissing will ensue!

Happy (Belated) 3 Months,
Baby Collin!!
Baby Collin!!
Update: Collin's daddy hit the road to Omaha early this evening! Woo to the hoo!!! Our little family should be reunited tomorrow, thank God. We're praying for him to arrive at his new home safely. Thank you all again for your loving support and many prayers. We know you are thinking of our precious Baby Collin and his family even though our entries are shorter in length, and longer between. ;)
Collin Matthew turned 3 months old this past Saturday, June 9th. He and mama celebrated it by hanging out at Great Grandma R's. Mommy caught some rays by the pool and Collin entertained everyone with his infinite cuteness.

Collin was admitted back into the hospital yesterday afternoon. It was determined, after a scope was performed, that he has a small ulcer on the inside of his stomach, near the site of his g-tube. It was causing him to have blood in his stools and in his emesis; which of course, is upsetting for his mom and for his grandma when she heard about it long distance!
Thankfully all is well and Collin was a gurgling, smiling, cooing bundle of joy this morning. He now weighs 11 lbs, 2 oz and is about 22 inches long. He is now getting 19 mL an hour, continuously, in addition to a 1 oz bottle of formula every three hours.
We are counting the days until we are with them again (at the end of June) and looking forward to a time when Mommy has the computer so she can email us pictures of our gorgeous boy. Thank you for continuing to visit and continuing to hold our family up in your prayers! God bless you all.

Collin Matthew is 12 weeks old today!
Today Collin will have a procedure done to correct his club foot where they will cut his Achilles tendon and then recast the foot. Eventually Collin will wear leg braces on both feet (but only at night.) Prayers for a simple surgery and quick healing for Baby Collin!
His feeds will increase to 18 mL an hour which is fabulous. All in all, Collin is doing superb and his mom is really hanging in there. Soon everything will settle down, Daddy will be there and their life will fall into a routine. We look forward to that time for them!
